Yesterday, kind of secretly, Nokia announced the 5228. At first look you will hardly find difference between the newbie and its sibling, the Nokia 5230. But that’s only because it is hidden deep under the hood: the new Nokia 5228 is the GPS-less version of the 5230.
The 5228 also lacks 3G support. But wait, wasn’t there already a device like that? Does the name Nokia 5233 ring a bell?
Other than that 5230 and 5228 share the same hardware and software. They both feature 3.2″ resistive touchscreens of 360 x 640 pixel resolution, 2-megapixel fixed focus cameras with video recording. And here comes another, this time minor, difference: while the Nokia 5230 can shoot VGA videos at 30fps the 5228 is able of only taking nHD videos (640 x 360 pixels @ 30fps), though we suspect that this might be a typo.
